We have missed you... so we are coming back BIG! We've decided to blend two of our favorite events: our beloved Speakeasy Fundraiser and the mysterious Theater Anonymous. Join us for a night of gambling and fun at Rick's Cafe. We'll have the lobby open starting at 5:30 pm and the courtyard set up as Rick's casino. Try your hand at Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, or Texas Hold 'Em! Or just stroll around and enjoy 14/48 photos and good company. There will be drinks and snacks and revelry. Then at 8:00 pm we'll start the show- a Theater Anonymous version of Casablanca, adapted from the movie script and celebrating its 80th Anniversary. At the end of the show, we'll do a Raise the Paddle- because don't forget it's also a Fundraiser!

Not familiar with the Theater Anonymous style of theater? The premise of Theater Anonymous is simple. Nobody knows the cast, not even the cast. Approximately 30 actors have been selected through an invitation process and each are rehearsing one-on-one with the directors, never meeting their fellow actors. Actors must take an oath of secrecy and are allowed to tell only one other person on earth that they are participating. Who will be Rick? Who will play Ilsa? Captain Renault? Nobody knows, and that's the fun of it!

Covid Protocols: All audience members must be vaccinated. Proof of vaccination (at least 2 shots, or one J&J) will be checked before entrance to the lobby. Masks are highly encouraged but optional in the lobby and the courtyard since food and beverages will be present. There will be no food or drinks allowed in the theater and all audience members must be masked during the entire performance. We recommend N95s and KN95s. Bandanas, scarves, and gaiters are not acceptable. Actors will unmask onstage.

Content and Themes: The story of Casablanca is set in World War II Europe and some characters onstage are Nazis. There is some violence onstage, including gun violence. We do not enforce age limits, but we highly recommend discretion and discourage younger guests.

Accessibility: This show will have ASL interpretation. We can reserve seats for you near the interpreters if you ask. The lobby and the theater are both wheelchair accessible. If you want information about those access points, please reach out. Please let us know if you have any access needs that we can help with, questions about accommodations, or concerns about the night- megan@the1448projects.org

With a VIP Ticket, you'll have access to the private 2nd floor VIP Lounge in the lobby, which will have an assortment of hot and cold snacks and a champagne toast, all hosted by Jodi-Paul Wooster. You'll get $500 in poker chips to gamble at Rick's casino on the lower level of the lobby as well as 2 drink tickets to use at the lower-level bar for beer or wine. Finally, you'll have seats reserved for you in the special VIP section in the theater. We've put tables and chairs in the front row, so it will feel like watching the show from inside Rick's Cafe!
VIP tickets are for guests aged 21+ only!

With a High Roller ticket, you'll get $250 in poker chips to gamble at Rick's casino in the lobby as well as 2 drink tickets to use at the bar for beer or wine. You'll also have access to seats reserved for High Rollers in the center section of the audience for showtime!

With a Palooka ticket, you not only get general admission to the show, you also get $75 in poker chips to gamble at Rick's casino in the lobby before the show!

General Admission gets you in the door! Join us for fun pre-show (you can buy poker chips the night of if you decide you'd like to gamble!) and then you have general seating availability at showtime.
