The 14/48 Projects

"Ogun's brother is missing; Ogun builds tools to find him", words obtained via a Yoruba poem that Academy Award winning writer Tarell Alvin McCraney uses as canvas to paint the story of The Brothers Size. The Brothers Size is a play about two brothers, Ogun and Oshoosi Size, after Oshoosi returns home from prison we see the two wrestling with the ramifications and re-assimilation of life after prison. In this fierce and honest look at the complex bonds of brotherhood, McCraney weaves together poetry, music and Yoruba mythology to magnify the tug-of-war between freedom and the need to belong somewhere, to something, to someone.

The Young Hot Thespian collective group chose this play because it is the story often unseen, and often forgotten. With your help we hope to make these brothers seen, these brothers of ours, and these brothers of yours. With the aid of a donation of any kind we, together, can bring a necessary story to audiences completely free of charge. So please donate today and join us December 6-9th for The Brothers Size.
