At last, Frozen Jr. is coming to YTN stage to bring some coolness into our Summer Stock Season, with our returning director Zoe Wilson. Based on the 2018 Broadway musical, the show features all the memorable songs from the animated film, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production. The production will rehearse and perform at Risdon Middle School in New Castle where YTN produced Summer Stock productions of Little Mermaid Jr. and The Monkey King: Journey West Bound in 2019.

Proof of vaccination is not required. Audience members will be asked a verbal screening to confirm they do not have any COVID symptoms. Audience members will be required to remain masked for the duration of the performance.

YTN Annex, a program for high school and college aged actors, returns after Men on Boats.

She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister's refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. This show will be performed on YTN Mainstage at Emmanuel Church.

Bilbo Baggins, a comfortably well-off hobbit with a love for rousing adventure stories is plucked out of his life when Gandalf the wizard knocks at Bilbo's door, bringing with him Thorin Oakenshield, 11 ragged looking dwarfs, and a contract for an adventure to recover the lost treasure of Lonely Mountain. Before he knows it, he is off on a perilous quest over mountain and under hill through caves and forest and slimy dark places. This one-hour version of Tolkien's classic novel is a suspenseful, fast-moving journey through the sometimes dark, sometimes charming, always compelling world of Middle Earth. YTN's Improv Director Mike Lion is making his Summer Stock directorial debut on our Mainstage at Emmanuel Church.

Proof of vaccination is not required. Audience members will be asked a verbal screening to confirm they do not have any COVID symptoms. Audience members will be required to remain masked for the duration of the performance.

Directed by Charlotte Peters, with assistance from Julia Griffin and Shawn Belyea
Saturday July 16, 2022, at The Cornish Playhouse (201 Mercer St. 98109)
Doors and Debauchery at 5:30 pm; Showtime at 8:00 pm
This show will have ASL Interpretation.

We have missed you... so we are coming back BIG! We've decided to blend two of our favorite events: our beloved Speakeasy Fundraiser and the mysterious Theater Anonymous. Join us for a night of gambling and fun at Rick's Cafe. We'll have the lobby open starting at 5:30 pm and the courtyard set up as Rick's casino. Try your hand at Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, or Texas Hold 'Em! Or just stroll around and enjoy 14/48 photos and good company. There will be drinks and snacks and revelry. Then at 8:00 pm we'll start the show- a Theater Anonymous version of Casablanca, adapted from the movie script and celebrating its 80th Anniversary. At the end of the show, we'll do a Raise the Paddle- because don't forget it's also a Fundraiser!

Not familiar with the Theater Anonymous style of theater? The premise of Theater Anonymous is simple. Nobody knows the cast, not even the cast. Approximately 30 actors have been selected through an invitation process and each are rehearsing one-on-one with the directors, never meeting their fellow actors. Actors must take an oath of secrecy and are allowed to tell only one other person on earth that they are participating. Who will be Rick? Who will play Ilsa? Captain Renault? Nobody knows, and that's the fun of it!

Covid Protocols: All audience members must be vaccinated. Proof of vaccination (at least 2 shots, or one J&J) will be checked before entrance to the lobby. Masks are highly encouraged but optional in the lobby and the courtyard since food and beverages will be present. There will be no food or drinks allowed in the theater and all audience members must be masked during the entire performance. We recommend N95s and KN95s. Bandanas, scarves, and gaiters are not acceptable. Actors will unmask onstage.

Content and Themes: The story of Casablanca is set in World War II Europe and some characters onstage are Nazis. There is some violence onstage, including gun violence. We do not enforce age limits, but we highly recommend discretion and discourage younger guests.

Accessibility: This show will have ASL interpretation. We can reserve seats for you near the interpreters if you ask. The lobby and the theater are both wheelchair accessible. If you want information about those access points, please reach out. Please let us know if you have any access needs that we can help with, questions about accommodations, or concerns about the night- megan@the1448projects.org
